October

It's no secret that October is my very favorite month of the year. I love all things fall. The fact that we are now living in Virginia, and truly have fall weather, makes my heart so happy. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Texas and love me some Tennessee - but those October memories are filled with sweating foreheads and wearing shorts to the pumpkin patch - that is just not right.

All ready for school pictures:

Brooke and Jade's pictures turned out fantastic this year. I'm still waiting on Avery's picture...

LOVE my fireplace and living room!

getting cozy by the fire on a rainy Friday evening:

Bills vs Patriots!

We all wore our favorite football teams to church, except Brooke, she wasn't in a football wearing kind of mood - and she also said that Seattle is her favorite team since she was born there.

Beautiful morning and our grass started growing!

Book fair at school:

Halloween costumes arrived. We have a unicorn, mermaid, and a cat this year.

Last Saturday was extremely rainy due to the hurricane. We had big plans of going to the pumpkin patch but that had to be put on hold. Instead we ventured out to the town of Occoquan. We wanted to pick up another Department 56 house for Halloween and we knew there was a store in their village that sold them. We ended up loving the town and can't wait to go back there when the weather is nicer and walk around more.

On Sunday we drove an hour into the mountains and checked out Graves Mountain. We had big plans of going apple picking - but turns out, no apples. Their crop wasn't that good this year, so they already picked them. You could only buy apples that were already picked. Bummer! We still had a lot of fun. The weather was really weird - it was really sunny but SUPER windy so it felt really cold.

Hayride:

Live music:

Hay maze:

We snacked on some fresh pumpkin donuts and a funnel cake. It was the perfect treat!

On the way home we stopped at winery for a glass of wine and some light snacks. The kids colored and played while Jeff and I enjoyed our wine.

Super cool wind chime wine glasses outside:

We had a fun day and hope that next week we will be able to go to the pumpkin patch.

On Monday the kids wore their Halloween clothes to school and were super excited about that. Theme wear is always fun for the kids!

Our backpack wall project is complete and I'm in love with it!
