We had a really busy weekend. Jeff was able to drive home from Virginia Beach on Friday night. We are thankful we were able to spend time with him Saturday and part of Sunday - we tried to jam as much fun in as we could.
Jade was thrilled that she was picked for "secret student" this week:
Brooke was excited that the fire department came to her school and visited the third grade to talk about fire safety. She told us about an open house that the new fire station near us was having on Saturday, so we told her we would try to go.
Can you spy Brooke? |
Saturday morning Jade had an extra cheer practice so that her team could work on their routine - her first competition of the season is just 5 weeks away!
After practice was team bonding. The girls had pizza and cupcakes, painted pumpkins, did a Halloween egg hunt and took their crack at a piƱata. She had lots of fun!
After practice, I ran home and grabbed Brooke and Avery so we could swing up to the fire station while Jeff mowed the lawn.
Brand new Fire station #5:
Brooke ran into someone she knew from school:
We took a tour of the building and sat in the firetrucks:
Coloring books, lollipops, tattoos, bookmarks, and hats:
and we even saw Sparky!
The girls jumped in the bounce house for a bit and all in all we had a really nice time. I'm so glad we decided to go.
When we got home - Jade drew Sparky! Not bad!
That evening, the girls went to an open gym at gymnastics and Jeff and I went for dinner together. The impromptu date night was much needed!
