Brooke's Art Party

Yes, you read that right! Another art party! Brooke requested an art party again this year. Last year we had her party at Painting with a Twist, where everyone painted a canvas of a dolphin, following an instructors lead. This year we had her party at "Walls of Clay," in downtown McKinney. Each child picked out an animal to paint that was made of clay.

The different choices of animals to paint:

I always like to do one nice large favor or something personalized since I sincerely despise receiving a bag of "junk" at parties. However, last year we handed out monogrammed aprons at Brooke's art party, and since a lot of the kids that came were the same as last year, I had to do something different. So I settled for "junk in a paint can," despite me gritting my teeth the whole time. Each kid received a paint palette lollipop, a shuttle pen, and a notepad.

Instead of cake this year, we did cupcakes with itty bitty sugar cookies on top!

Time to paint...

Brooke spinned the birthday wheel and won a $5 gift certificate to Walls of Clay. Brooke is excited to go back and paint some more!

Brooke is not a huge fan of pictures, so I always struggle getting pictures of her looking at the camera and actually smiling. So I was happy I was able to at least get a few.

After the party, we went to Texas Roadhouse and then tried out the new electric scooters from Grandma & Grandpa. Jade is a tad too little still and Brooke was a little scared. With a little one on one time to get the hang of it, I think she will be fine. But let me tell you - Mommy and Daddy had a ball! We raced each other down the street and tied. We also took the kids for rides on it with us. Such fun! I just might steal their scooters during the day while they are at school. My neighbors might think I'm a little coo-coo when they see me zipping by!! ha!

Brooke's face! She was telling me to slow down!!

Jeff was a little bit ahead of me in the race!

Happy Birthday, Brooke!!
