Jade's First Cheer Competition

The first weekend of December, Jade had her first cheerleading competition. Her team, "Electric" entered as exhibition team. Being an exhibition team, they were able to have spotters on the floor with them and the coaches felt it was a great way for the girls to get their feet wet since this was all of the girls first experience.

I woke Jade up bright and early to do her hair and makeup. Then got the other girls up and ready. We had to be at the competition at 7:15 in the morning, so it was an early morning for us all.

Here they come!

Group backbends (looks like one girl fell; but not bad for 5 and 6 year olds!)

I cried like a baby watching Jade on the floor. It brought back such fun memories. I am so excited for her that she seems to really be enjoying herself! She hit all her stunts and executed her skills beautifully. Some of her skills thus far into the season are: standing backbend, backbend kickover, back walkover, and a cartwheel and a round off. She is working on her front walkover (which is the last level 1 skill she needs). A level 2 skill that she almost has is a back handspring. Go Jade!
