We had so much fun in Disney last year, that we decided to hit it up one more time while the kids are still young. I think we are all Disney'd out for awhile, but we are so glad we went again. This time Grandma flew into Florida and spent the week with us!
We planned to drive straight through this year, but the kids and Jeff all had a snow day the day before we were supposed to leave so we decided to leave a day early. Jeff went and had the oil changed and tires rotated in the morning and we got on the road at about noon. We drove to Baton Rouge, LA and got a room for the night. After we ate breakfast at the hotel, we headed to New Orleans for a quick pit stop at Cafe Du Monde. I just had to get myself some beignets and the kids were equally as thrilled as I was!!!
We got to Orlando late that night and then had a timeshare presentation to go to in the morning.
Grandma arrived Saturday night when the kiddos were already in bed sleeping. They saw Grandma when they woke up on Sunday, and were really happy to see her! We headed to Epcot that day (just like last year).
This trip to Disney was great because we had an extra adult. Brooke and sometimes Jade were able to go on some of the rides they weren't able to last year because logistically it was easier for us to break up. Jeff took Brooke and Jade on test track, while Grandma and I walked around with Avery since she was not tall enough to ride.
Here is Avery waiting in a corvette for everyone to finish up their ride:
Then Jeff took Brooke on a roller coaster while the littles headed to see Mickey
We all met up by Chip and Dale and then rode Finding Nemo...
And then I proceeded to blind Jeff with the flash of my camera, which I tend to do quite often:
We took turns riding on Soarin' while Avery rode on the boat ride.
We headed over to World Showcase to finish the day visiting some characters we missed on last years trip. This year we saw Mary Poppins, Village Belle, and Mulan.
Jade and Brooke both needed to rest while we waited for Mulan |
Later that night, Grandma hung out with the girls watching movies and coloring while Jeff and I went back to Epcot. It was so nice to be able to stroll through all the countries and grab a little bite to eat and drink along the way and look through the shops.
Night, Night - Magic Kingdom in the morning!!!!
