Last Monday we met up with one of Brooke's friends from Kindergarten to go roller skating. Her friend James really enjoyed himself at Brooke's birthday party and wanted to go back, so they asked us if we wanted to join them.
Brooke and Jade did a really good job skating- Brooke improved a ton! Avery begged and begged (or should I say, threw a slight fit) to roller skate. I figured if I let her try on the skates and she realized it was too difficult she would give up after a little while. Boy was I wrong. I held her hands and "helped" her for 2 hours straight! That was a lot of work!
Really blurry picture but you can see Brooke roller blading across the floor all on her own. |
On Wednesday Brooke had a riding lesson. The name of the horse Brooke will be riding is Ginger. Brooke loved grooming the horse and at the end of the lesson was able to give Ginger a bath.
After Brooke's horseback riding lesson we took the girls bowling.
Saturday we went for a long walk and then played outside with our neighbors.
After church on Sunday- and everyone willingly wanted to hold hands :-) |
Monday, Brooke went to a painting "camp." I signed her up for the day they were painting a horse because I knew she would just love that. She had a lot of fun.
While Brooke was at her painting class I organized some things. I put together these bins, one for each girl to hold all of their schoolwork that we keep. Throughout the year I only save the things that are really special or that I feel was their really best work. I just can't keep everything and I realized this as I had stacks and stacks of papers piling up in the office.
I have a file folder for each year of school and I hope this system works for us as the years progress!
Today I met up with my first friend I met here in Texas, Katie. We went to Chick fil a for lunch and were able to chat a bit while the kids played in the play place.
Katie is expecting her fourth child in October!! |
Our crazy kiddos! |
Hopefully the rest of the week is calm for us. We are counting down the days until our summer vacation... one week to go, we are super excited!
