Day 5

Happy 4th of July!!

 

We got to our hotel in Buffalo at about 6pm on the 3rd. The 12 plus hour drive actually went really well with the kids, mostly because we caved in and bought Brooke a Nintendo DS while we were in Tennessee. This help occupied her during the drive, on top of the DVD's that we had playing. My parents brought us a pizza to the hotel for dinner. I think Jeff and I literally inhaled it and ate way more then we should have- but let's be honest, they don't make pizza anywhere like they do in Buffalo. We eat pizza pretty much EVERY DAY when we are in town. Non-Buffalonians have no idea what they are missing out on. YUMMY! Brooke got spoiled with a pink tablet from my parents and Jade was over the moon with the Sophia the First figures and Sophia doll she got from them. Despite Avery getting Disney figures too, Avery tried stealing all of Jade's stuff, resulting in many tears being shed. However, Brooke and Jade wanted to sleep at Grama and Grampas that night, so we brought them over to their house, which made for a quiet night for us in the hotel room.

After we picked up the girls in the morning, we stopped by Jeff's dad house so he could see the girls. Then, it was off to see Jeff's mom's side of the family. Jeff's mom and GG (Great Grandma Hug) put together a lovely party at Green Lake. The whole extended family was there and we had tons of fun seeing everyone. Brooke and Jade enjoyed playing with all the big kids (Kali, Selena, Nicolle, and Victoria) and Avery was pretty social with everyone.

 

I got the kids ready at Mom's in the morning and we almost got a family shot of all of us!! Avery was a little fussy :(

Later that night we headed to see fireworks in Elma. We sat in the Iroquois High School parking lot. Brooke was scared of the noise that the fireworks made... Jade liked it at first and then said "I've had enough, I just want to go" and Avery seemed to enjoy it all, and kept saying "again!"

 

What a jam packed day! That night we dropped off Brooke and Jade to spend the night at Grama R's house!
