Peach Picking

On Saturday morning we took the girls peach picking. The orchard was about an hour north of us.

Orchard owner, Norman Miner, explained and showed Brooke and Jade which peaches were ripe and which ones weren't ready to pick yet.

...Not so sure about this....
 Off we go...

After we picked our peaches we headed back to have them weighed and then we got some peach ice cream! That sure made the girls happy!!

A little sisterly love

We had a fun morning! After, we ate BBQ for lunch and then took the kids to the splash pad in the evening. It was a great day!!

Day 8-9

Day 8- St. Louis
Day 9- Driving home to Texas

Day 8

On our 8th day, we left Buffalo at about 4am. Our next stop was St. Louis. I wasn't sure what to expect in St. Louis. Jeff told me it was a pretty bad city in terms of crime and all I knew of St. Louis was the gateway arch. We were pleasantly surprised. It actually is a really nice city. We loved the architecture of the buildings and enjoyed just looking at the different cathedrals.

Driving through Indiana, we passed through Indianapolis. As we were driving I could see where the Colts play, at Lucas Oil Stadium.

I also missed the Missouri sign... another bummer. I was hoping to get all of the state signs we passed through.

Off to see the Gateway Arch. Daddy with his girl, Avery

We wanted to take the elevator ride up to the observation deck of the arch, but we just didn't think we were going to be able to do it with the kids. They were starting to get crabby and the lines were super long. It was 7pm and the next available tour wasn't until 8pm, so we decided to skip it. We did look at the Museum under the arch, which was free, and really nice.

There is us, under the arch!

Hotel we stayed at, downtown, right across from the arch

Some shots of various buildings throughout St. Louis....
Edward Jones Dome, where the Rams play

Busch Stadium, where the Cardinals play

Day 9

Heading home to Texas!
This leg of the trip felt like it took FOREVER. I think at this point, we were all ready to be home!

While in Oklahoma, we passed through the town where Carrie Underwood grew up- literally, NOTHING there.

Almost there....

We are home! Total time spent in the car: almost 66 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pfew! We survived! And we had a ton of fun! It was wonderful seeing our family and friends.
