We anticipated a busy weekend with our house being on the market, so we headed to Austin, TX. We left on Saturday morning and came back Sunday evening.
On our way down, we stopped in Waco, because I've been wanting to visit Magnolia Market. I am a huge fan of the show Fixer Upper on HGTV. I just love Chip & Joanna Gaines, so I was excited to be able to stop at their store. The place was packed!
We walked around the store and they had some beautiful things. I settled for a coffee mug, since I didn't want to buy any house décor due to our upcoming move. Then we headed outside to walk by the Silos and let the kids play on the green area. There were swings, balls, hula-hoops and games for family's to play with and a bunch of food trucks.
We grabbed some wood fired pizza from one of the food trucks, which was delicious, and then we continued our mini road trip down to Austin.
We drove to Round Rock, Texas, which is just north of Austin. This is where our friend Dave opened up his Tae Kwon Do studio. Dave was conducting a birthday party that afternoon for a student, but we caught the tail end of it, and he let the girls join in. Brooke was too shy to join in on the fun, but Jade and Avery loved it.
We checked into our hotel and then headed to dinner at The Oasis. This was a beautiful restaurant that is 5 stories and overlooks Lake Travis.
The views were beautiful and the live music was awesome!
We went back to Dave and Natalie's apartment for about a half hour and then headed back to the hotel to turn in for the night.
Brooke slept in late despite us all getting ready around her. We grabbed the free breakfast and then headed to see Downtown Austin.
We walked through the State Capitol building.
Stunning ceiling:
I really loved the door hinges:
After seeing the capitol building, we strolled around downtown. We grabbed ice cream at Amy's ice cream which is known for their famous Mexican vanilla ice cream. Then, we walked along the river and grabbed a late lunch before heading back to Dallas.
It was a short visit but lots of fun! It was great to see Dave, Natalie, and Cameron one last time and we enjoyed checking out Austin.
On a good note, our house had lots of traffic over the weekend and we had 3 offers on Sunday night. We are moving forward with one of the offers and are keeping our fingers crossed that everything works out!
