Our Summer Vacation: The Outer Banks, North Carolina

We've been counting down to our vacation to the OBX with Jeff's family for weeks! We are so blessed that we were able to spend time with Jeff's mom, sisters, Grandma (who the girls call GG), and Aunt Tracy!

We left Charleston shortly after breakfast and pulled up to the vacation house around dinner time. We thought we would all get there around the same time, but it turns out that Jeff's family ran into major traffic near DC and standstill traffic on the bridge getting to the Outer Banks. We unloaded our van and headed to the grocery store to pick up some essentials for our family for the week. That night we had pasta for dinner. Jeff's mom brought down some of Jeff's great Aunt Phyllis' delicious sauce and meatballs!

We are finally in the Outer Banks! Yeah!

There was a foose ball table when you walk in on the bottom floor. Directly off of this room, which also had a bathroom and fridge, was a sliding glass door to a screened in patio. There was a hot tub in there along with a table and chairs, and off of the patio was the door that led out to the pool.

We stayed on the second floor. The girls had bunk beds and our room was directly across from it, which had a bathroom connected to it. Kali and Selena also had a room (next to our girls) with bunk beds, and their bathroom was across from their room. Further down the hall was a washer/dryer, Aunt Tracys room, and a couch and tv.

On the 3rd level was a kitchen and living area, and two bedrooms each with their own bathroom, and another half bath. The house had 3 balconies to sit on as well. It was more than accommodating for all of us!

 Brooke, Jade, and Avery got a bunch of trinkets from Grandma R, and Jeff got birthday cards from everyone and a shirt from his mom. I even got a special gift from Jeff's mom.

The next day was another wash out. The weather was rainy and yucky all day. We relaxed at the house all morning and went to the Outlet mall later in the day. That evening, we went in the hot tub for a bit.

On Monday the weather was still kind of yucky. It was raining on and off and cloudy. We went to the beach anyways, and still had tons of fun!

That night we celebrated Jeff's Birthday (although a few days late) with ice cream cake!
