Horseback Riding

Brooke just adores horses. She has no interest in wanting to get a puppy or a cat, but the one thing she consistently asks for is a horse. LOL! Sorry Brooke, we can't get a horse.

Horseback riding lessons... that's something we can try though. We decided to take her for a single lesson, just to see how she did and if it was something she might want to do in the future.

She really had fun and asks when she can go back again, so we might do a 6 week lesson package.

McClure Fun Run

Brooke has been so excited about the Fun Run at School. She reached her goal of raising $50, and her class raised the most money for the school. Their class won a trip to ELEVATE, an indoor trampoline park and an ipad for the classroom!

Daddy met us at the school on his lunch so Mommy could help out Brooke's class

Room Mom's for Brooke's class

This is Danny...

It was so fun helping out with the Fun Run... the kids all had so much fun, despite how hot it was! I enjoyed being able to help out. Their school raised over $30,000... I was so shocked, apparently everything really is BIGGER in Texas?!

Other random pics from the week....

Care bears from Grama & Grampa... sending a little cheer to Avery due to her traumatic experience =)

Sunday

Sunday morning we let Avery open up her last present from us, since it was in fact now her birthday!

Avery loves all the Disney Princesses...so this petit princess set was the perfect gift. We also got her a princess bag to put them in.
Then we headed off to church, where we dedicated Avery. What a challenge that was standing in front of the congregation with a now 2 year old. It has taken us so long to find a church here in Texas though so it just never was the right time to take part in the parent/child dedication.

Super cute picture of the girls!!!
Later we talked to Grandma and Grandpa on Skype- they were able to watch Avery open her gifts from them!

Avery LOVES Princess Sophia- so these gifts were a HUGE hit!

Such a fun weekend!

Catching up!

Catching up from the last two weeks....

Jade seems to really enjoy dance class this year:

Jeff will probably be mad I took this picture- and even more mad that I posted it... but he made a smoothie, and had a bit of a malfunction... he attempted not letting it go to waste by sucking up what spilled.

So... Brooke has a crush on a boy at school. His name is Danny. She drew this picture for him and was really excited to give it to him. He gave it back to her and told her to put it back in her backpack. She was crushed.

Also, is it normal for my 5 year old to be googley-eyed over boys ALREADY?!

I'm having so much fun doing Jade's hair. She sits still and actually lets me try things on her. It will be so great once it thickens up a little and I can do more.

Excited to go to school!
Bubble wrap is so much fun!

Brooke's school had "college week" last week at school. On Monday it was wear a college hat or funny hat day. Brooke was supposed to wear a Where's Waldo hat we found laying around, but she left it on her bed by accident.

Tuesday was  wear your running shoes day

Wednesday Brooke wore her Longhorns Jersey- it was wear your favorite college team day

Thursday all the kids were asked to wear the colors of the college their teacher went to. Brooke's teacher went to Abilene Christian, and their colors are purple and white.
Friday was wear blue day (school color). Brooke wore her school t-shirt that day. She really looks forward to taking part of all the fun events at school.

Thursday I took this picture of Avery. In the picture you can see the red mark on her eye. Her eye was also black and blue. This happened on Tuesday. I met the two other room moms for Brooke's class at McDonalds to talk about classroom things. While Avery was playing in the play place, she fell off a low step and hurt herself. As if that wasn't bad enough- Thursday she was climbing up on the ledge/window seat in our breakfast nook to look outside at Jeff who was cutting the lawn. As I turned the corner, I saw her slip and fall- I ran over and she was holding her chin and there was blood on the floor. She split her chin. I grabbed her and a paper towel and ran out to Jeff. We loaded everyone in the van and went to the ER. It was an awful awful experience. The cut wasn't deep enough for stitches, so they glued it. Luckily the cut is under her chin, so the scar shouldn't be too visible unless she tilts her head back. I'm sick to my stomach over it still.

Playing outside...

Now that the weather is cooling down, I think we will finally get to use our backyard more. This summer was brutal, we barely went outside. In the past two days, we spent more time outside on the play set then we did all summer! I'm super thankful to have this play set though, we are going to use it a ton in the next few months!
