Happy Birthday, Jeff!
One of Jeff's friends and his family happened to be in town this past week. We had them over on the night of Jeff's birthday. We ate dinner and the kids played together while we visited. Then, we had a cookie cake to celebrate Jeff's 29th birthday!
Yesterday we decided to venture out to downtown Dallas...
Here we are in the "BIG D"...
Below, is the early-20th century warehouse formerly known as the Texas School Book Depository. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy.
This "x" represents the spot where JFK was when he was assassinated... |
After that, we just walked around Dallas a little bit.
Hydrating! It has been H-O-T here! |
Deep Ellum is a neighborhood composed largely of arts and entertainment venues. In addition to live music, Deep Ellum is a hot-bed for graffiti. Many of the music venues use graffiti artists to advertise music shows. The wide variety of images, largely in a 'graffiti' style, has long been a popular display.
It has been one year since we closed on our house here in Texas. This was the first time the girls and I got to experience the city of Dallas. It was nice to see but we probably won't venture there too much in the future. There really isn't too much to see or do there with the kids.

Playing out back...
