Birthday "Hoedown"

I have so many pictures to upload from the past week. Mom and Dad came down for a visit, and we had a jam packed week full of TONS of fun!!! I am going to try to post some more pictures tomorrow, but tonight I wanted to at least get some pictures posted from Brooke and Jade's Birthday Party.

Since moving to Texas, Brooke has been obsessed with horses and pony rides and anything cowgirl, hence the handsewn cowgirl costume from Halloween. Therefore, I knew we just had to have a true western birthday party this year! We originally had planned to have the party at our house, in the backyard. However, the week before Jeff kept checking the weather reports, and it appeared that it was going to be pretty cool out. We also didn't anticipate as many people coming that did, so at the last minute we changed the venue. I searched and searched the weekend before the party and found a Web site with what was called the Longhorn Hill Party Barn. It looked nice so we decided to check it out. Had we found this place from the get go, we would have planned to have it there all along- this place was AWESOME. It was a stunning property and truly western!

The party of course couldn't be complete without pony rides! LOVE this pony's cute pink accessories:

The party turned out great and was a ton of fun. Brooke and Jade really enjoyed themselves and had smiles on their faces, which makes all the time spent planning the party so worth it! Mom and Dad were such a help when it came to setting everything up. My OCD kicks in and I get a little nutty (thats putting it lightly)- so it was so great having them there! Now that its over, I'm already thinking of ideas for next year's party :-)
