It was a HOT HOT weekend here in Tennessee!! For Memorial Day we went to Nashville and spent some time at Cheekwood, which is a 55 acre botanical garden and art museum located on a historic estate. The gardens were just beautiful!! We didn't get a chance to walk the entire estate, because for one it was just soooo hot, but it was always really busy and the kids weren't too cooperative. We hope to go back again sometime on not such a hot day.

One of the reasons I really wanted to check out Cheekwood is because one of their current exhibits they have running till the end of the year is TRAINS! Click Here to learn more about the exhibit. Brooke LOVED seeing all the trains, especially Thomas & Percy. She has had quite a fascination with trains for awhile now.
After Cheekwood we went to our friends Rob & Sarah for dinner and enjoyed watching the kids play together. Back to the grind tomorrow for Jeff....!
Jeff and I took the kids STRAWBERRY PICKING today and we had a blast! We went to Valley Home Farm in Wartrace, Tennessee, and this place did not disappoint!! The scenery in the Wartrace/Bell Buckle area is just beautiful and we had a ton of fun picking strawberries. Even Jade got really into it, and was bending down looking for and picking the strawberries!

One of the reasons I was really excited to go to this specific farm to pick strawberries, was because I heard they sold strawberry ice cream that they make themselves from their own strawberries. While I personally am not a fan of strawberry ice cream, I really wanted to get it for Brooke. She has been asking for PINK ice cream for well over a month now. And it just seems that whenever we get ice cream, we are limited to just chocolate and vanilla, and I would never buy a whole tub of strawberry ice cream for the house. So this was the perfect place for her to get her 'pink' ice cream, and she thoroughly enjoyed it... and so did Jade =)
