Tuesday afternoon we had a tornado watch. The sky started to get real dark, and the wind was really starting to pick up... I happened to be on the phone with Jeff, who was at work. I was looking out the back window telling him how it was getting kind of scary out and I didn't know if it was okay to leave the house to pick up his mom from the airport (which was irrelevant, because she ended up getting severely delayed). Mid sentence, I heard 'crack,' and then saw the tree behind our fence falling towards me- I panicked, and screamed thinking it was going to hit the house. It broke fairly high up the tree, so luckily it didn't come close to hitting. At the time though, I just saw it falling so I was screaming... Jeff hung up and left work.
Thank goodness the fence is only damaged minimially... Jeff trimmed as much as he could of the tree, so we still need to figure out how to get rid of the part that is still dangling. Our neighbors back fence is basically all down, and part of the tree landed on their house, and damaged part of their roof and their gutters.
