Day Two:
The next day we woke up and headed to Lower Manhattan. The girls were really excited about seeing the Statue of Liberty. It was so cold that we knew a ferry trip over there wouldn't have been smart. Therefore, we just looked, and promised we would bring them back when the weather was nicer.
Pit stop at Starbucks to warm up with some coffee and hot cocoa:
Charging Bull in the Financial District:
Trinity Church:
Freedom Tower:
9/11 Memorial:
Oculus is a newer building that houses a mall and is a transportation hub for the World Trade Center:
We took the subway from there to Grand Central Terminal:
and then a subway from Grand Central to Little Italy for a late lunch/early dinner:
After we ate a delicious meal in Little Italy we went back to our hotel to get ready for a Broadway Play! We bought tickets to see Aladdin and couldn't wait to take the girls to their first Broadway Musical.
Luckily, the theater was just a short walk from our hotel.
Aladdin was a hit with all of us! This show is just so good! Whether you have kids or not, the acting is outstanding. We all especially loved the genie!
Day Three:
On this particular morning, we had reservations at the American Girl Salon. Part of Jade and Avery's Christmas present was gift cards to the American Girl Store. Brooke did not participate in this, because it is just not her thing. Instead, Jeff and Brooke went across the street to the Lego Store, so she could look around and pick out something with the gift card we got her.
First, Jade and Avery picked out the hairstyle that they wanted.
Both Jade and Avery chose a double waterfall braid.
Next up was nails, for both the girls and their dolls.
Brooke came back around this time with her purchase from the Lego Store:
Final stop in the Salon was for the dolls to have their hair done:
Our doll hair stylist was so friendly and funny. Her and Jade hit it off well!

The girls shopped with their gift cards and then we ate lunch in the AG Café.
We went back to the hotel to drop all of our bags off and then swung by Serendipity. I was really hoping there would be a table available, but no such luck. I so badly wanted a frozen hot chocolate from the world-famous restaurant. I especially love the namesake film, "Serendipity," and have always wanted to be able to dine here!
So instead, we decided to take a stroll by City Hall where Jeff and I said "I do," 11 years ago! Who would have thought 11 years later we would have been standing here with 3 beautiful children!
Then we found ourselves back at Little Italy. Our family loves Italian and the girls were happy to eat there again!
We all went to bed early since the next morning we had to get up very early!
