The first week in May we pulled the kids out of school so we could head down to Orlando. Jade had an end of year cheer competition there so we made it a family vacation. The girls missed 4 days of school total but it was worth it because we had tons of fun!!
Here we are LATE Thursday night arriving at the resort. It was a LONG drive. We hit traffic and a rain storm and for some reason we just made horrible time. However, these girls were all smiles when we pulled in and we could feel the humid air and see our lush surroundings. VACATION!
We brought everything to our room and even though it was late we walked around the resort a bit.
Friday we woke up early and went to Magic Kingdom!!!
It was actually not very crowded at all that morning and we were able to go on all the roller coasters and hit a lot of different rides. We also squeezed in a few characters we missed in the past like Stitch and Tiana.
Jeff is bummed - he had to ride the teacups alone! LOL
A look back at our family at Magic Kingdom the last couple years:
We left Magic Kingdom around 4 because we had to get Jade over to a practice with her team. It was perfect timing, because the park was just getting crowded and pretty hot too.
Cheer practice on the iconic field of the All Star Sports Resort. This is where all the Worlds and Summit teams practice every year before their big competitions:
After practice we headed back to Magic Kingdom. We rode a few more rides and then watched the fireworks over the castle. We also each had ice cream on our way out of the park! What an awesome day it was!!
Saturday morning we all slept in and then headed to the Gaylord Palms for Day 1 of the cheer competition.
We walked around the Gaylord resort and then headed to Disney Springs.
We walked around Disney Springs and ate dinner at the T-Rex restaurant.
When we finished dinner we headed back to our resort for some fun in the sun!
We finished the evening watching some of the TROLLS movie outside at the resort:
The next morning was day 2 of the cheer competition.
Her team finished 3rd out of 11. Jade was of course disappointed that they didn't get first, but her team really did look wonderful and we were proud of them!
That evening we cooked out at the resort and went to the pool.
Monday was our last day in Orlando and we went to LEGOLAND.
Orlando we love you!
You hold so many fun and awesome memories for our family!!!
