The girls have been watching a ton of American Girl movies lately. Avery of course likes to pretend she is each of the characters, I never know what to call her. Sometimes it's "Can you call me Isabelle?" and then two minutes later it's "Call me Saige"
We bought Avery her first American Girl Doll for her birthday and I gave it to her Sunday night, before we took Brooke out for ice cream for her first horse show.
Blonde hair and blue eyed doll to match Avery!
On Monday morning, after we dropped off Brooke and Jade school, I took Avery to celebrate her birthday, since she would be in school for her actual birthday. We stopped at the donut store on the way to our trip into Dallas to go to the American Girl store!
It was REALLY sunny out (when isn't it in Texas?) ... I wanted to get a picture of Avery outside of the door, but it was just too bright.
We walked around and looked at everything the store had to offer. Avery eventually picked out an outfit for her doll, and the matching dress for herself, along with a hairbrush and sunglasses for her doll.
Then we headed up the elevators to have lunch together at the Bistro!
We walked by the Hair Salon, but opted not to get her doll's hair done, since it's brand new and Avery wanted her hair to be "down and long."
We got seated for lunch and her doll sat right next to her in her own chair.
and then Avery pretended to be Ariel by brushing her hair with a "dingle hopper"
Avery gave her doll salt to drink (so silly!)
and after we ate they brought her out an ice cream sundae with candles and sang to her.
We had a really fun day together and it was such a special treat for me to be able to take Avery here!
