A McKinney Christmas

This morning we went to our historic downtown for "A McKinney Christmas." This is a 2 day event that they have been putting on for years.

First stop... checking out the reindeers:

Next, we attempted a picture on a sleigh... they had tons of cute places set up to take pictures, but of course, not once could I get everyone to cooperate at the same time :-)

We hit up the carousel ride...

walked around a bit...

Here at our local dancewear store, they had a ballerina dancing in the window...

Awesome little train ride with Frosty! ...

and we saw the Grinch! Avery was fascinated...

On one of the stages they had this group of women tap dancing. They were actually pretty good- and then they all got on the microphone and told the audience their ages... most of the women were in their 70's- one was 79! Look at their legs- I hope I look that good at that age!

What a fun morning! We will definitely go back to this event next year. We love the historic downtown - they have such fantastic stores and really put on such nice events all year long. They had all sorts of food vendors, an ice skating rink, bounce houses, and a snow tube ramp where they made fake snow. We couldn't do everything this year but are already looking forward to next years event!

North Pole Breakfast

Once the kids went to bed on Friday, I finished decorating our big tree. (We have 5 trees- 1 for each girl, a "mod podge" tree of ornaments from over the years, and our "fancy" tree). The kids were excited to see it decorated when they woke up and they checked out all the ornaments.

Brooke decided that they should be presents under the tree, so all 3 of the girls crawled under the tree

then Avery checked out the stockings again... naming which stocking belonged to who...

next they checked out the Nativity Scene...
and then... Jade discovered the elves were here!!!

and... they set up a North Pole Breakfast!!!

Jingle and Belle left a note for Brooke, Jade, and Avery and left them each a new Color Wonders Book and some new crayons...

Avery sat right down and reached for the donuts.... proudly proclaiming "DONUTS" in the loudest voice ever :-)

Jade reached for her "Peppermint Milk"

The girls were pretty excited to have Jingle & Belle back! They loved the donuts they brought, the peppermint milk, hot cocoa, marshmallows, and the little gifts!

Christmas Decoration Day

On Friday, we spent most of the day putting up our Christmas decorations. We have most of them up, but still have to put a few things outside...

The kids enjoy putting up their own Christmas trees each year in their rooms. This bin is full of ornaments. Each year we get the kids 2 ornaments each from Hallmark. Both Grandmas send ornaments and GG always sends ornaments too! They love opening up each one and they spend so much time just staring at their trees and all their ornaments :-)

Settling in to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas before bed...
