Elf on the Shelf

We decorated the day after Thanksgiving, inside and out! We have 4 trees (the big tree in the living room, and each of the girls have their own tree with all their special ornaments!). Brooke LOVED setting up the trees... she wanted to put every single ornament up (even though I seceretly had to rearrange them all due to my severe OCD)! Pictures to come soon of the trees, as Brooke wants everyone to see her tree.
We are in full swing with our Elf on the Shelf... we started it last Saturday, so today was day #6. Brooke was excited when we read her the book and seemed to really be anticipating his arrival. However, things with Brooke are never that simple. Day 1 was great, she found him right away and was all smiles. We even named him, Jingle. Day #2 rolls around and when Brooke realized he wasn't in the same spot, she freaked out! She was, for lack of a better word, extremely mad, and wasn't interested in looking for him, sat there pouting for a good five minutes. By the third and fourth day the excitement was back...and now she won't stop talking about where he will be tomorrow! I think she finally is understanding the concept. Last year we had the elf, but we didn't hide him every morning. She is doing great with not touching him (since he will lose his magic)...she enjoys talking to him, especially when she is being good, she makes sure the elf has seen what she has done... Example..."See, Mr. Elf... I am cleaning ALL my toys...are you going to tell Santa?" (Very cute.)

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

Day 4 (This Brooke thought this was hysterical! She says... "that elf, he is so silly. He is funny momma!")

Day 5 ("Why does he have my Christmas books?")

Day 6 (We told Brooke that the Elf brought some snow back from the North Pole.. she loved that he made a snow angel!)

More to come...
