Gymnastics & Bike Riding

Brooke started gymnastics last week and absolutely LOVES it!!!! She is in the same class as her good friend, Raleigh, whom she met at dance class.

Jade wants to do the same things as Brooke does, so of course, here is her "present"
Below are some videos of Brooke riding her bike she got last month.
She is starting to really pick it up now =)

Had to post this last video... because I just love her comment, "Look at me" ... she is talking to some stranger walking by...

New Patio!

We've been wanting to get a patio in the backyard ever since we moved in. It's extremely hard to go outside and play with the kids when there is nowhere to sit, and all their toys are in the garage. We always ended up playing out front, which is really nothing but a headache, trying to keep the kids out of the street, etc. Last week the patio was put in, and we LOVE it!!! We have a nice table that seats six and we bought a firepit. Only thing we'd like to get is an umbrella for the table, hopefully there will be a nice sale at the end of the season!

Last Sunday we went to Sports*Com. Our church rented out the outdoor pool from 5-7. I've been wanting to take the kids there for awhile, but would never attempt it by myself during the day and on the weekends we've just been so busy, and I'm sure it's probably always packed. It was nice to have just the people from church there, making the crowd smaller. The outdoor pool is tons of fun. The kids area is great, they have a little water slide, and a big bucket that pours water out, and sprinkler spouts, etc. The kids had a blast. I didn't get any pictures of them in the pool, because Jeff and I each had a hand on a kid the entire time. Jade, ironically, has less fear of the water than Brooke. Jade dunked her head in a few times and smiled, while Brooke would pretend she was choking when she got splashed with the water.

Happy LONG Weekend to you!!

We started off this lovely 4th of July weekend with a trip to the Pancake Pantry in Nashville. We got there around 8, and waited maybe 15 minutes, so it wasn't too bad of a wait. No, we didn't see anyone famous, and secretly, I was hoping...okay maybe hoping isn't the right word.. fingers crossed, thinking about it all day, praying that maybe just maybe Keith Urban would be there! A girl can dream, right? I mean my first trip to Nashville, 6 years ago I was determined I was going to see Mr. Urban. Everywhere I went my eyes were peeled. At this point the other NK (Nicole Kidman, not me)  wasn't in the picture, and either was Jeff, so I seriously thought I had a chance. I will chalk it up to I was still young and naive...but to this day, I'm sure I would have butterflies if I could meet him =)

Only my child would eat all the lucious M&M's off the pancakes... and leave the rest. But hey... who are we kidding, I myself would choose dessert over a meal anyday!!!
After breakfast we headed over to Centennial Park. We thought it would be nice to walk around before it started getting too hot. By 10 o'clock we were all melting, and agreed it was time to leave!

Super Daddy! Thank goodness for Jeff's incredibly strong physique =)

She's a poser .. what can I say. Every new spot we find she says "Take a picture, Mommy."

Here it appears Brooke and Jade are getting along, frolicking in the gardens. What you will not see is 30 seconds later, where Brooke deliberately plows Jade over ... Sisterly Love, right? Gotta take the good with the bad....

Before going home we stopped up at the social event that was going on in our community. They had hot dogs, a bounce house, and a firetruck. We literally stayed for about 5 minutes. The kids were in desperate need of a nap. Jade enjoyed sitting on the front of the firetruck, and didn't mind a little photo op, where Brooke was no longer in the mood for any pictures!!!

We hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend!!!
