Jeff and I went out with some friends for dinner one evening. The coordinating outfits were NOT planned, lol!

Primping each other before church:

Yesterday we had a snow day! The forecast called for some snow but we didn't expect to wake up to our very own winter wonderland! It was so pretty to see all of our trees covered with freshly fallen snow.

The view from my living room window

After the girls ate breakfast we went outside for a little over an hour. We walked through the trees and went on a "bear hunt," played, rolled around, and built a snowman.

Here we are way deep into our lot...at this point the only thing you could see was trees and snow (no matter which way you turned). It felt like we were in some secret world!

And the wonderful thing about snow here in Virginia is... it's here today and gone tomorrow!!

Snow Tubing

On Monday we drove up to Massanutten Resort, which is in the mountains, to take the kids snow tubing. We had a two hour window from 4pm - 6pm to tube and the girls had lots of fun!

Our weekend

Friday night we went to bed anticipating to wake up to our first snowfall in Virginia. Jade and Avery decided to have a sleepover together... these two are either besties or at each other's throats.

We didn't get a ton of snow but the girls were super excited about it!

We had to drive to Richmond that morning for a cheer competition. Richmond got more snow than we did and their city was like a ghost town with most of the streets unplowed.

Jade's team got another first place win! This event was awarding rings to the first place teams in each division - so after the award ceremony Jade got sized for a ring!! Woohoo!

Sunday morning we woke up and went to church. Jeff showed the girls how quickly water freezes on the ground since the temperature was below freezing.

After church we took the girls outside in our backyard. We didn't have much snow but it was still fun to let them sled down the hill in our backyard that leads to our drain field.

After being outside the girls showered and I made hot cocoa and cookies for them.

What a fun filled weekend!
