Preschool Spring Program

Today we had the Spring Program at Jade and Avery's Preschool. It's a cute little performance of the kiddos singing a few songs, with a small reception that follows. Of course, Jeff is out of town, and sweet girl #1 happened to get sick in the middle of the night. Poor Brooke threw up last night and it has continued throughout the day. These are those times when I feel absolutely helpless. I didn't want to miss the Spring Program, since that would mean NOBODY would be there to watch Jade and Avery, and yet what was I supposed to do with Brooke?

I ended up bringing her with me. Luckily, we feel right at home at our preschool, since it's our 3rd year going there. I set Brooke up in one of the room's upstairs at church that the youth group usually goes in. They had some couches, a garbage can, and a bathroom all within easy reach. Hey, I had no choice!

It's like pulling teeth getting Avery to smile sometimes.

Cute little Spring set up on stage

Jade and Avery found each other and were all hugs!

Avery, again, not interested in taking a picture

Here is a little video of one of the songs. I love how Avery just does her own thing :-) That girl!

Texas Tulips

I've been wanting to check out this Tulip field that I had heard about for the past 2 weeks, but it just never worked out with our schedule. Anytime I could have went with the girls, it was either raining, or just had rained. I made my way out there today, after church, but unfortunately mostly everything was picked over. Just two weeks ago, there were all sorts of colors, purples, pinks, reds, etc. You can pick your own tulips, for 2.50 a stem.

In my head, of course, I thought I could capture a picture of all of my girls together with the beautiful tulips in the background, but nothing ever works out quite like I plan. I just cannot for the life of me get all three of them to stand nicely and smile at the same time. Usually someone is grabbing on to another too tightly, or someone is looking the other way or making some sort of obnoxious face :-(

Jade was all about walking around with this basket

The girls each picked a few tulips and I put them in a vase on our table in our breakfast nook.
I asked Avery to smile for me the other day while we were waiting in the car line at Brooke's school, and these were the expressions I got:

Seriously? This kid cracks me up. She was wearing one of sister's old dance costumes and she gave me every facial expression BUT a smile.

On Thursday night we went to the McKinney ISD Central Office to look at one of Brooke's art pieces that was being shown there.

Her art piece is in the top right corner.
This week while we've been waiting in car line, Jade, Avery, and I have been playing "Spot It"

While Brooke was at art class this Friday, Jade, Avery, and I hit up the park.

little monkey.
 Just 3 sisters hanging out:

Saturday afternoon we went to a friends house to celebrate her birthday. We ate cupcakes and cotton candy, got glitter tattoos, and our nails painted:

Even mommy got tatted up :-)

Easter

Coloring Easter Eggs:

Avery loves to wear jewelry  and she usually steals mommas- but this night after baths, Avery snuck into Brooke's room and found a whole stash of good things!

Excited about the Easter Egg Hunt at school:

Playing outside:

Friday night while Brooke was at art class, we went to The Pantry Restaurant in McKinney.

When we got home, we watched a short message from our Pastor on TV, and took communion as a family.

Saturday was a busy day- Brooke had riding lessons, we went to the city of McKinney's Egg Hunt, we went grocery shopping, and Brooke had an art makeup class. Days like that seem to fly by always.

Brooke was by herself in the 6-8 year old category. No parents were allowed on the field. She was a little scared to do it herself I think, and was depressed when she only got a few eggs. I was proud of her for trying, some of those kids were really big! I don't think they were 8 years old! Jeff said they needed to do a birth certificate check, lol.

Easter Sunday we went to church in the morning and grabbed some lunch at Texas Roadhouse after with some friends we invited to our church.
