Going to the Pumpkin Patch is one of my favorite things to do in October. I've been looking forward to going for the past few weeks. On Friday, I took Jade and Avery to a small little patch that was free. We went on a hay ride and walked around a bit and then I bought a few little pumpkins. On Saturday, we went to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm as a family. Unfortunately, we didn't get to stay as long as I would have liked to or do as much as we wanted to, due to some poor behavior from the girls :-/
Before we even paid to enter the Pumpkin Farm... things got ugly. Jeff said we should just turn around and go, he had a hunch it wasn't going to go so well. I insisted it was fine and that we would manage... but I guess I lost that argument! I really just wanted to get a picture of the girls together - Jade didn't want to be bothered, Brooke pushed Avery out of the way...and Avery wanted a picture alone. I shrugged it off and we went in...
We fed some longhorns that were salivating all over the kids hands. The amount of saliva they were producing was really gross... we grabbed some antibacterial and kept going.
Mommy wanted to attempt another picture ... well, Avery wanted to climb on the hay. This picture was snapped two seconds before the hay Brooke was sitting on tipped over. She fell to the ground and the pumpkin rolled across the grass. Jeff and I were trying to set the display back up while Avery took off one way, and Brooke insisted on sitting on another pile of hay (not in the picture), which she also knocked over. It just wasn't our day :-/ We are that family that everyone is looking at...
we had better luck with the goats...
...and then we went on a hayride. How we managed this picture I don't even know... because let me tell you- pictures are just a small snapshot of reality if you catch my drift :-)
Hay maze...
We grabbed some free hot dogs on the way out and called it a day. Each year I think it's going to get easier... but I think we are going backwards... it gets harder! Mom and Dad...feel free to move anytime now... this girl could really use your help!!!!
I'm hoping one day I will look back at these times and laugh... but I really just wanted to pull my hair out at the time!
