Wow... it's been so long since I've last made a post to the good ol' blog! I can't believe June is almost over. Shortly after Jeff's mom left, all of us Owens' came down with the sickies! We battled pink eye, strep, an ear infection, and sinus infections. It was HORRIBLE for a little over a week- but we are finally all healthy again.
As of lately, Avery wants to be JUST like her big sisters.... she is constantly sneaking into their rooms and pulling out all of their things. One of many of her newest obsessions is putting on a tu tu and stealing their dance shoes. The first day she had this get up on, I literally could not take it off of her- she screamed and threw a fit when I tried to take the ballet shoes off. I needed to get Brooke to dance though, and I wasn't in the mood to battle with her, so I just grabbed Avery as she was, and off we went. At least she was in appropriate attire to fit in at the dance studio that night.
When we got home that night and Brooke took her dance clothes off, Avery did not hesitate grabbing Brooke's outfit and putting it on. I have a feeling that this is just a glimpse of the what the future holds for us having 3 girls close in age- I sure hope they can learn to share :-)
Later that week when Jade had dance- Avery stole her tap shoes and I let her tap in one of the dance rooms at the studio- she absolutely loved it!
The girls are so happy that they are not housebound anymore... off to gymnastics:
Waiting for some ice cream...
Dinner at The Cheesecake Factory:
and .... another Avery obsession- nightgowns!!! Avery literally kept stealing Jade's nightgowns, and this did not make Jade a happy camper. We decided to go to the mall one day and we stopped at the Disney Store. We bought Avery her very own nightgown, she was thrilled. We also got Jade a 'Princess Sophia' nightgown, since that is absolutely one of our favorite shows right now, and Brooke picked out a Dumbo stuffed animal.
Last weekend we had Brooke's 3rd dance recital and Jade's 1st recital.
Brooke and Jade decided they wanted to have a 'sleepover.' I let them have a fun snack (fruit loops) and said they could play with toys and games as long as they were quiet and didn't come out of the room. They did really good. I kept checking on them because they really were being quiet, which is so not typical. They stayed up pretty late talking to each other- it was really sweet. They fell asleep around 10pm and by midnight Jade got up and went to sleep in her bed ;-) Since then, every night they ask me if they can have another sleepover.
This week I've spotted some sunflower fields that have sprouted up. I knew I wanted to go check one out. Jeff had to work until midnight last night but he left a little early because he got sick at work, which he is pretty sure was food poisoning. Even though Jeff was pretty much down and out the whole day, not feeling well, he was willing to take a drive with us in the late afternoon.
Jeff stayed in the air conditioned van while me and the girls braved the heat. Brooke was kind of scared to go inside the field of sunflowers, so she just stood in front of it. Jade literally started walking right through the field, and at one point, I couldn't even see her, the flowers were so much taller than her. Avery didn't know what to think about it.
On the way home we stopped and got the girls a snocone.
Poor Jeff... not feeling well but being a good sport:
