Through the Years

I was thinking of our first apartment in Seattle the other day and what it was like when we first had Brooke. I thought it would be fun to take a look at us every year since then. I realized that when I had Brooke, Jeff and I practically looked like babies ourselves- now we look much older (I hope that slows down!). I also realized that as the years progressed, each family photo got harder and harder with the addition of more kids :-) Just a little trip down memory lane...

Texas Bluebonnets

The Bluebonnets are here! Since this is our first year here in Texas, we have yet to experience the trademark of Spring- which are the bluebonnets. Once they bloom, I think they only last a couple of weeks, and I hear they are really beautiful in Texas Hill Country (which is basically right by Sea World in San Antonio). Driving around town, there are patches of these wildflowers everywhere.

 

Last night, we attempted some pictures with a local photographer- but Avery wasn't having it. She wouldn't let me put her down, she screamed bloody murder! Here is probably the only picture we got of the three of them:

 

 

Hopefully at least some of the indivdual shots of Brooke and Jade turned out- as I know for sure we did not get any of Avery :-( Plus I was on my own, since Jeff was working late- so while I was trying to manage Avery's tantrums- Brooke and Jade were taking off running in the flowers- it was pretty much like a circus, as is everything we do! I swear, I am NOT exagerating- these girls are a HANDFUL! I will continue to try every couple months, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one of these times I can get a nice shot of the 3 of them together. It's a hard age to get them all looking and smiling pretty at the same time!!

 

Today after Jade's dance class- I took the girls to a field of bluebonnets, so they could pick some and just walk around in them.

Avery trying to get away with sitting in the back with Brooke without a car seat... Brooke buckled her in with a seat belt, so I just had to take a picture of that.

 

Jeff and I like to go for rides on the weekend, for two reasons: 1) we like to look at the huge, GORGEOUS houses that we will never be able to afford but its just so nice to dream, and who are we kidding number 2) its nice to be able to actually have a conversation with each other without kids screaming or yelling... so usually we head out around nap time, and they will watch a movie and usually doze off for a bit.

 

Anyways... during our drive- we spotted this... who knew people actually own zebras?! And they had a camel too!

 

While Brooke is at school- Jade likes to sneak off into her room and sit in her bed and play with all of her toys...

Fun Outside

We had a few nice days this week- the kids got a chance to get outside and play on their swingset, blow bubbles, and run around. We are looking forward to the nicer weather that is on its way- but we just can't get used to how windy it is here!!
