Brooke's 1st Soccer Game

Today, Brooke had her first soccer game. The team only had 2 practices due to their first few practices being rained out. It was really cute to watch... most kids didn't truly understand the game, and a couple goals were scored (not always in the right net).

Brooke absolutely fell in love with being the goalie at practice... so the coach let her play goalie to start the game

Brooke let 2 goals in... but stopped one! Not bad for her first try... and she is the youngest on the team!

This weekend is going to be busy! If it doesn't rain... Brooke has a soccer game on Saturday and we have 2 egg hunts on Sunday! Should be fun!!!

Avery - 6 months old

Avery celebrated her half year birthday on Thursday =) I feel like she was just born yesterday... can't quite believe that in another 6 months I'll be planning her first birthday!

x marks the spot

So when I got out of the shower yesterday morning... this is what I found...

If you can't see based on those 3 pictures... let me explain... there was a blue x down EVERY stair in our staircase. A large one on the landing between the stairs, one in my room, and one on the walls! I was so frustrated when I first found this, I couldn't believe Brooke would actually do this (well wait a minute, on second thought, I can believe she would do that). After I calmed down and was able to thankfully get it all cleaned up... I realized that this is something I will look back on and laugh about...especially when Brooke and I were talking about it later... she told me she was making a treasure map and they were x's, because x marks the spot. I asked her where the treasure was...and she explained that she couldn't dig up the carpet.... what a creative mind...

How do you like my hair?

Taking advantage of the beautiful weather...we spent the morning at the park today...

We stopped for lunch at Dairy Queen (even though Brooke and Jade ate their PB & J's I had brought to the park)...

...and topped our afternoon off with some ICE CREAM!!!

Happy St. Patricks Day! Brooke and Jade celebrated with Green milk and Lucky Charms ;-)

Since Jeff left for a work trip to Dallas on Sunday, we made sure that our Saturday was dedicated to spending time with the girls. We started the morning off by going to Chuck E. Cheese. Jade liked going on all the kid rides, while Brooke played games with Jeff. After Chuck E. Cheese we went to the playground and then out for lunch.

We don't have green grass yet (then again, I'm not sure we ever have green grass here...because once it turns green, it just as quickly gets brown again) but at least we have some color in the landscaping.

Books I made each of the girls called "20 questions." I found the idea on pinterest and thought it was cute.

On the left hand side of the page will be a picture of Brooke (which I just ordered) at age 4... on the right hand side of the page is her answers to 20 questions. We will ask the same questions every year and see how her answers change, etc.
