Family BBQ

Tonight we went to O'Charleys for dinner, one of our favorite places to grab a quick bite. Brooke, as we know, marches to the beat of her own drum... and two minutes after sitting down, she found a menu to wear as a hat and was stuffing rolls in her mouth, as you can see below!
Yesterday we went to a Family BBQ. When I first moved here, I joined the Murfreesboro Moms Group (meetup.com) and since then have joined another one, that one of the ladies started from the other group. I LOVE this new group, because it is a lot smaller, and I really have been getting a chance to know the other woman, as well as Brooke getting to see the same kids =) Yes... that is Brooke dumping water on her friend Joshua!

Story Time & Dance Registration

Today I took Brooke to register for dance class!!!!!! I'm hoping (okay REALLY hoping!!!) that she LOVES it. I figure we'll give it a try and see how she does the first few weeks...and if she doesn't seem ready, I will wait until next year. Her first class is September 4th.
The dance studio is an old plantation house, and has 4 studios. From what I've researched it is one of the better studios in the Murfreesboro area.
Barfield Dance Studio: http://barfieldschoolofdance.com

Of course if Brooke does love dancing, like I did...I have plans to switch her to a studio in Franklin that is the top ranked studio in the state and competes nationally.

After dance registration Brooke and I went to Barnes and Noble for storytime. Today's story was The Little Red Caboose.

After the story was read, each kid was given a box to color. After the kids colored their boxes, they put them on and lined up like a train.

They "chugged" around the store, and eventually ended up at the cafe, where cookies and milk awaited them! Brooke was in heaven ;)

July Fun!

July has been a FUN month so far!!! For the 4th of July, we headed over to our real estate agents house. We had some great food and enjoyed fireworks at the end of the night. Mark, our real estate agent, spent over $900 on fireworks!! Brooke at first asked Jeff to turn them off, but enjoyed them!! Jade didn't cry at all, but it was very loud and it was making her uneasy, so I took her in the house and we had a nice view from the window.
Brooke plugging her ears: Some of the fireworks and Mark: Grandma & Grandpa came down to visit for a week!!! And let's just say... for Brooke, it was like Christmas in July. This is Brooke 5 minutes after they pulled in. This box was FULL of toys, books, and silly things. She emptied it out and put on the bumble bee oufit and got busy!
On Saturday, we went to our neighbors for a little Pot Luck.
Below is Brooke at church. We FINALLY found a church that we LOVE....and even better, Brooke LOVES LOVES LOVES it!!!! She constantly is asking to go and always has a smile on her face when I drop her off in her room, and when I pick her up!
On Sunday, after church, my parents visited the Jack Daniels Distillery. The plan all along was to get Jeff a barrel for his bday from myself and my parents, but Jeff didn't know. So when my mom asked him to get something out of the trunk, this was Jeff's reaction!
The boys hauling it up the stairs: On Monday we took Brooke to Jumpers Playhouse. We try to take Brooke here a lot, because she really has a riot! On Mondays at 10:00 they have storytime and bouncing for $3.
Grandpa even went on the BIG slide with Brooke... I won't post the picture, in all fairness to him.... but it really was quite hysterical =)
Monday night, my cousin Jacky came up to visit with her husband Scott. It was great to see them, and we celebrated my Dad's birthday (July 16th), Jacky's birthday (July 19th), and Jeff's birthday (August 1st).
Out to Lunch:
Grandpa hanging a ceiling fan... and Brooke attempting to help by playing in the box...
My dad helped us redo our landscaping... he shaped the bed really nice and we bought some additional plants... there is nothing in the landscaping that came with the house, we replaced everything. My poor dad was DRIPPING wet, as the day he did it, it was over 100 degrees!!!
On my parents last night here, my mom took Brooke to the playground... and afterwards they went to the store and got a balloon, cookie, and ice cream!
